Tori and Josef

Josef and Tori met in 2013–Tori was attending the Savannah College of Art and Design and Josef was stationed as an Army Ranger in Savannah, Georgia. They met three weeks prior to Josef’s third combat deployment to Afghanistan and he asked her to be his girlfriend days before deploying. They dated through two deployments together, and despite the distance between them, they were inseparable–keeping in contact via video chat and email every day.

In 2015, Josef and Tori moved to New York City upon Tori's graduation and Josef’s separation from the Army. Four years after they met, in June 2016, Josef proposed to Tori during a stunning sunset on Siesta Key Beach in front of her entire family.

A year later and a move from NYC to Michigan, they married on December 9th, 2017 in St. Petersburg, Florida. The wedding was set to take place at a local waterfront park, but was moved to Tori’s family home due to a rainstorm the night prior. The backup plan was a blessing in disguise, as the family’s back patio created an intimate atmosphere, just after dusk, with heaters and candles surrounding the guests and the wedding party. The rest of the wedding went off without a hitch; with tours of the Dali Museum galleries, delicious food and dancing.
